My beloved Sylvia (Plath, for those of you who are new) once said, “Nothing Stinks as Much as a Pile of Unpublished Writing.” She wasn’t kidding! At risk of tattooing every darn poem, musing, essay, and false-start novel I’ve ever written on my body, I decided to bring my words and voice to cyberspace!

I’m a 35-year-old (can we lie a little and just say 29?) mother of two darling tween sons. (Puberty is making that darling more like darrrrrrrr-ling these days). I live in Southern, New Hampshire. I work in marketing for a non-profit mental health agency. Because of my work, I am surrounded by new and interesting people with some VERY interesting lives.

I’ve been so busy raising kids that I feel like I’ve missed many of the lessons, messages, and meanings of the relationships I’ve had with the people in my life. From the random meeting of the guy on the back of a flight home from Houston, to the long-term friendships I’ve created and long list of clients I’ve encountered, I believe that these people all have something very special to say and share with the world.

I refuse to believe any of us are “ordinary” or “normal” anymore! I’ve been called that one too many times and I’m going to challenge that here, with accounts of the people who’ve meant to much (or so little, in some cases) to me in my life. Nearing my “mid-life,” phase (shoot me now, please) I want to figure out where I’m coming from, where I’m heading, and how all these people have influenced (or not) me.

So, while the kids are rolling their eyes at me, quite sure I’m no longer the “cool mom,” I’m taking a Time Out! for myself and locking myself in my make-shift office (more like walk in closet) every night for the next 365 days to make sense of it all. I can’t promise stunning, amazing revelations every blog, every day. I know life will get in the way. But what I can promise is that I will stick to it. And in the end? While learning more about the people I’ve encountered along the way, I’m hoping I’ll learn a little more about me! Join me? …It’s bound to be an interesting journey…
